Murcott Olé RBC 01’s characteristics
Was originated from a mutation induced by Gamma radiation, in 2008, of the Murcott Olé Sete Lagoas 7L variety, the main characteristic of Murcott Olé RBC 01.
Fruits: they have an oblate shape, are very juicy, with an extremely rich tangerine flavor, with highly colored juice. The goblet is usually retained in the fruit when picked. The surface of the peel is smooth with prominent oil glands. The skin is an average of 3-5 mm thick and is easily removed. There are 12 to 14 segments that separate easily.
Characteristics of Murcott Olé RBC 01 trees are moderately vigorous, well leafed, with open growth and without thorns, compatible with commercial rootstocks.
Indicated rootstocks: Citrumelo Swingle, C35 , X-639. There are no signs of incompatibility with the rootstocks used.
Alternaria alternata: less susceptible than Honney Murcott and Nova.
There is no occurrence of alternating bearing.
